Stephen Cohen – Board Chair

Stephen spent 30 years as a dairy farmer including 9 years as secretary of the local Landcare group and 17 years on the Board of an agricultural co-operative. He now lives in Tatura and runs a retail business while continuing a long history of community involvement as Chair of GV Agcare and representing the Goulburn Valley on the Board of AgBiz Assist.

Peter Gray – Company Secretary

Peter is a Certified Practising Accountant who has worked with regional farm businesses over many years. His fields of experience have been in the strategic planning and financial management aspects of agricultural economics, at business and industry levels. He is also a committee member of development bodies which work broadly with agriculture to build regional economic strength and opportunities.

Dr Tim Clune

Tim is passionate about sustainable agribusiness and regional communities. He is a Lecturer in Agribusiness in the School of Business at La Trobe University and is focussed on understanding the factors impacting agribusiness sustainability and resilience. Tim has an Honours degree in Agricultural Science and a PhD in Agriculture, a Masters of Environmental Laws and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

Shane Crispin

The ability to think outside the square has been an invaluable asset in supporting Shane’s formal qualifications in Education, Business and Sports Coaching.
Shane has added to his extensive experience in creating award winning projects in government, education, community services and employment sectors by recently graduated from Alpine Valley Community Leadership program.

Wayne Donehue

Wayne has been on our Board since 2012. Over the past 15 years Wayne has been involved with Landcare, in particular with the Ovens Landcare Network and the North East Catchment Management Authority. He has helped develop, support and organise many projects encouraging sustainability in the rural areas of North East Victoria. Wayne also runs a small rural business involved in sustainable water use. He currently lives on a small beef cattle property in the Upper Ovens area.

Chris Howe

A Chartered Accountant and partner in Belmores Accounting Yarrawonga, Chris provides a range of accounting and business advisory services to farming and regional businesses in North East Victoria and South West NSW. He was the inaugural treasurer of North East Agcare Rural Financial Counselling Service. Chris has a broad acre farming background and is involved in many community organisations.

John Lazarov

John brings with him a raft of specialist experience from within the financial sector where his strong business development, networking and relationship management skills are highly regarded. His collaborative approach to business is a valuable asset within his role with the Commonwealth Bank Group and is complimentary to the development plans of the organisation.

Karen Moroney

As a fourth generation primary producer and the current Chair of a regional development program for farmers in the Murray region, Karen has a deep understanding of the dairy industry both at production and industry levels.

She also has a keen interest and strong track record of involvement in research, development and extension in regional policy and economic development and is an active leader in a range of commercial and community organisations.

Chris Thomas

Chris has extensive knowledge in corporate governance, strategic planning, social welfare/community development and risk management.
He holds a Masters of Applied Science (Rural Regional Development), Diploma of Management Practices and Masters of Corporate Leadership and (GAICD) Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Chris works as a consultant in community development and the dairy industry, specialising in people development, after long service for dairy companies managing milk supply, field service and rural finance.

David Vaughan

High level involvement in farming, business and community roles have rewarded David with not only a long service history but also deep connections and a sound understanding of rural life.

Overseeing strategic and financial performance as well as managing the very important interaction between employees and stakeholders for more than 30 years are other valuable assets he brings to his board position.
